Spare Parts is a memoir of emotions throughout Simple Grim’s seasons. Highway Skate of Mind is his heart in the summer. Speed, lyricism, reality, and dreams all collide on this fast track. Run It Back is his anxiety in the fall. Frustrations about the music industry propel much of the record. Story of a Boy is his rage in the winter. A troubled childhood is finally put into words in this song. And Agony is his hope in the spring. It wraps up the record with a message of hope amidst extreme pain. The title track, Spare Parts, is an overall encompassing of his journey of trying to repair himself in the midst of decaying depression.
