Edgar Silva Correia with the stage name “Badoxa”, was born in Portimão in 1992. Son of Pai Cabo Verdiano and Angolan Mother.
Since he was a child, he showed great ease in learning music and singing.
It all started at the age of 8 in capoeira, where he learned to play various instruments, such as: Berimbau, Atabaque, Pandeiro, having later started to sing in the capoeira circles, having even won a singing championship (Capoeira) in 2003 in the Algarve.
In 2004 he saw a band playing live for the first time and was delighted!
Badoxa early in his career did not resist and asked to play some percussion, it was then that he discovered his passion for live music, shortly afterwards he started playing percussion in a band called “Kalulu”, where he grew and evolved as musician.
In 2006 he received an invitation from the musician and singer “Xico Barata”, having accompanied this great Angolan musician and animator throughout Portugal.
In 2007 he was offered an acoustic viola, starting right away to learn to play the viola and piano with great musicians, such as: Xico Barata, Joaquim Brandão, Zé Manel Martins, Tuka Moura, Tuniko Goulard, Leo, Marquinho, Nuno Miguel, Marcelão, Beto Kalulu, Carlos Morais, Sebastião, Tony Mickael, among others.
In 2009 he starts to produce and compose his own music.
