Kemtaan, Benino-Senegalese singer-songwriter, has been considered since 2005 as one of the officials in Benin's urban music scene. His career began in earnest in 2004 with the release of the album Les Croix du Bled by the group Blaazfem composed of him and his friend Demos.
After this album, Kemtaan decided in 2007 to travel to Paris to specialize at SAE INSTITUTE PARIS, a sound engineering school. He signed with 9SIDE RECORDS and released in 2010, Kemtaan EP, a six-track project, duplicated by SDRM in France. He signed in edition at TAKTIK MUSIC INT. following the release of this EP.
2 years later, he collaborates with DJ Battle (current DJ of La Fouine) on some of his songs. In 2012, Kemtaan released “Mise A Jour 1”, a compilation of 21 tracks. The second volume “Updates 2” was released in 2013. “Updates 2” was well received when it was digitally released on the voluncorp site on June 25, 2013.
On September 18, 2013, Kemtaan and his team organize the physical launch this time, Update 2 at EREVAN in a semi-private semi-public setting. This event proved the artist’s involvement in the development of the national musical world through its originality and success.
On December 24, 2014, Kemtaan released the digital version of his first album Guezo on iTunes. The physical version was released in February 2015 in the form of MUSIK CARDS.
The artist is currently preparing the release of his new mixtape "Mise A Jour 3" (Update 3) which represents the epilogue of his trilogy "Updates".
Two extracts from this project have already been unveiled by the artist. The first No Way was unveiled on December 26, 2016 and the second It was necessary was released on March 20.
