Omy De Oro About

Born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico on August 13, 1995, Denis Omar Aponte Rivera, known as OMY DE ORO, felt a love for music from a very young age. He started posting videos of him showing his talents doing Freestyle. From then on, Omy was contacted by Alex Killer and began to focus on developing his career under the Young Boss Entertainment and Share That Music labels.

2019 was a successful year for the artist. He premiered several collaborations, including his song with Alex Rose, "No Te Asustes" which today has more than 8.7 million views on YouTube and 2.6 million streams on Spotify alone. A few months later, he collaborated with Bad Bunny and Shooter Ledo for the hit of the summer “Subimos De Rango”.

The single quickly captured the attention of fans and billboards worldwide. The music video was also a resounding success, surpassing 11.9 million views on YouTube since its launch and more than 10.1 million streams on Spotify. His two most recent songs, “Lalu” and “Sayonara” have also given a lot to talk about. They are songs that excel Omy as a freestyle rap artist without sacrificing the rawness and realism of his underground sound.

Omy started 2020 on the right foot. The artist presented several shows around Puerto Rico and a presentation in San Francisco, California. In January 2020, he had the opportunity to take the stage of CaliBash Los Angeles with Bad Bunny and Shooter Ledo to perform his hit “Subimos De Rango”. His rising popularity in the world of Latin music has not only reached millions of views on his songs, but has also been one of the “5 Latinx Artists to Watch in 2020” by Forbes magazine.

The rest of the year will be worthy for Omy De Oro. Currently, he is preparing new collaborations and finalizing the last details of his EP, El Rey del Punchline, which will soon be announcing a release date.
