Isaiah Raheen Funderburk better known as Zey_Musiq (born December 22nd, 1993) is an American indie R&B / Pop singer, songwriter, engineer, producer and photographer who was born in Rochester, New York.
After discovering he can sing at the age of 6, he was involved in his church choir and several local talent shows. At a young age, he decided to pursue a career in music. Isaiah performed at the Eastman School Of Music in Rochester, NY and went off to high school to study music.
Despite being homeless and having no family support; Isaiah still managed to not be discouraged. Through all of his hardships, he has learned to never give up and always move forward. He lives by the quote “incompetence builds mountains of nothingness.” He strives to be a better musician, and person, everyday.
In 2013, Isaiah began writing music for other artists as well as himself. In fact, he developed his own recording studio in his basement. He then joined a trio boy band called “Phanominal.” The band performed in Rochester and went on their first mini-tour to Richmond VA, Washington DC, ad back home to Rochester NY. After the band separated, he decided to go solo. He released his first mixtape titled “Bangerss” several weeks later.
You can hear his distinct vocal imprint in every song. His unique voice has given him the opportunity to collaborate with many artists within the Rochester area.
He is a diverse artist that is open to exploring many new genres and ideas. He has worked in the R&B, Pop, Pop Rock, and Rap genres in which he is still exploring many more.
He has an EP titled “ The Luggage” which is available on iTunes and a single titled “Speeding” which was featured on his second EP released March 12th, 2017 titled “Twenty Two”
